The Demi Pair Training Programme offers New Zealand families an exciting chance to host an international student and experience a new culture in their home.

Program Overview

Students improve their English and gain practical childcare experience while living with a New Zealand family. They receive their own room and participate in family life, including childcare training.

Duration & Schedule

The program lasts 12, 24, or 36 weeks, with 15 hours of English classes per week (9am-12pm) and 15 hours of childcare activities in the afternoons, evenings, or weekends.

Student Profile

Most students are European females, aged 18-30, from Germany or Switzerland. Some hold driver's licenses and have personal interests such as horse riding, football, tramping, or music.

Car Usage

Students may use the host family’s car if they have a license and the family has appropriate car insurance in case of accidents.

Matching Process

We carefully match students and families based on shared interests and preferences to ensure compatibility.

Host Family Responsibilities

Host families provide students with a private room, involve them in family life, and guide them in learning about childcare. Families are also responsible for ensuring the student has the support they need during their stay.

What you can expect

We seek families with children who are open to hosting an international student. Families must provide a quality room, have internet access, and ensure all members over 18 pass a police background check.
